Majlis Ramah Mesra Bersama Yang Mulia Timbalan Menteri Pendidikan dengan Pelajar-Pelajar di United Kingdom dan Ireland.

16th January 2010 - Brunei students around UK and Ireland braved the cold weather, hectic classes and exams coming to London just to have a once in a lifetime chance to meet the Vice-Minister of Education; YM Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohammad bin Pengiran Haji Abdul Rahman dan Datin.

The event was held in Brunei Hall's lobby packed with teachers, staff, students and residence of the place. Around 10-10.20am, students started to fill the area and waited for the Vice-Minister to come.

When he came and gave a speech emphasizing the students not to lose their dignity, M.I.B. and religion. The latter is highly applicable for Muslim students not to believe in other religious influences as quoted by the Vice-Minister, "Islam adalah yang terbaik." He praised students for maintaining these important elements in their independent lives. In addition, Yang Berhormat also wants the students to "berbakti pada negara" and "jangan jadi kacang lupakan kulit."

After the motivating speech from Yang Berhormat, the event went for the 'Question and Answer' session between the students and representatives from the Ministry of Education. Cikgu Aziz was also there to answer any queries about careers, further studies and allowance. The representatives were hoping that students would be teachers to develop Brunei and encourage them to continue them to continue for their Masters and PHD. We are young and we must not waste our time.

With Cikgu Aziz Nayan, the head scholarship department.

At 11.20am, the informative session ended by the representatives mingling with the students before heading for lunch. After having the nice and lovely lunch of rice, fish, ayam masak kicap, mixed vegetables with tofu and honeydew, they get together for a group photos.

Overall, the event was worth the students' time because it gave them motivation to study and pursue for Master and PHD. Thus, Bradford students, we must answer for our country's development and be the next generation to make Brunei a modern yet cultural place.
The Vice-Minister and Datin.
