Majlis Ramah Mesra Dan Junjung Ziarah

The purpose of this email is to inform you about the required attendance of All UK students ( including A'levels) who are currently on holiday in Brunei at the "Majlis Keberangkatan Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Paduka Seri Baginda Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzadidin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien Sultan dan Yang Di-Pertuan Negara Brunei Darussalam Bercemar Duli Bagi Majlis Ramah Mesra Dan Junjung Ziarah Bersama Rakyat serta penduduk Daerah Brunei dan Muara Sempena Sambutan Perayaan Ulang Tahun Keputeraan Baginda Yang Ke-64 Tahun".

In accordance with the event, each society is required to send at least FIVE members to attend the event.

Date of event: Sunday, 25 July 2010

Time: 7.00am

Venue: Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar 'Ali Saifuddien, Bandar Seri Begawan.

The event is expected to end at around 12pm after lunch where lunch will be provided there.

Students can park their cars near the Masjid Jame' Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Kampong Kiarong and at Lapang Kilometer Satu (Batu Satu near First Metro) where shuttle buses will be provided to go to the Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar Ali Saifuddien, Bandar Seri Begawan.

Attire: Baju Cara Melayu for Boys and Baju Kurung/ Fesyen for Girls preferably not yellow.

The position of our stall (kem) is confirmed to be stall no .71.

Hello BruBradites,

Exams are over and most of us (if not all) must be back home in Brunei already. For those that are, we're planning a summer picnic get-together, which would act as an informal farewell for the graduating seniors as well as an induction session for the incoming juniors.

The picnic has been decided to be held on 8th August 2009, 10 am onwards at Pantai Seri Kenangan, Tutong.

We will be expecting our special guests (Graduating Seniors) so please be there!

Farewell Dinner

Picnic

Hello everyone~

It is unfortunate that the Lister Park picnic was cancelled due to lack of replies but this time, we're not proposing for another picnic, instead, we will definitely be having a picnic at Horton Park. The time will be at 14:00 (2pm) til the sun go down (if we can last that long) on Saturday, 25th of April 2009. Please bring food, drinks or even outdoor games (and maybe chairs). This may be the last time we will get together since after that everyone will have exams and then "balik kampong" (and it actually applies this time!). Let's all have a good time for a day to clear our mind before we begin with our exams!

Friendly Bowling Tournament‏ - Update

Hello all

The bowling tournament this Wednesday is confirmed. I have already booked 3 lanes at the Hollywood bowl next to Cineworld. It will be at 4.30 onwards. So please be there on time as the time slot for us will be fixed. The meeting place will be outside Cineworld 4.30 sharp. Make sure you bring your student card.

Price of one game will be £1.80 with student card. Overall price will be £3.60 as we will be playing 2 games in total. There will be prizes for winners =)

For those of you who haven't replied its not too late to still join the tournament. There are still slots available! So just come the day itself.

Bruneian Cultural Night - Society Performances‏

Assalamualaikum and hello everybody!

As our Social & Welfare Secretary may have already informed you, in conjunction with the Silver Jubilee of Brunei National Day and the Golden Jubilee of the Union, BSU and ICUBS are presenting Brunei Cultural Night 2009. It is expected to be one of the biggest celebrated events of the year! We hope to have as many Bruneian Student Societies in the UK & Eire to be involved in this auspicious event as possible.

The event will be held at Leicester Square Theatre on the 28th of March, with the Matinee show showing 2pm-5pm and the Evening show at 6pm-9pm.

With that said, applications for performances are still open - any traditional performances are most welcomed. Each society performance will be given a maximum 4 minute slot and a maximum of 8 performers.

Please get back to me with performance plans before 1st March 2009 if your society would like to get involved. Feel free to contact me if you need further information.

Mini Tournament

Assalamuaikum Everyone,

I have just received an invitation from Bruleeds Society to attend a mini tournament on 14TH FEBRUARY 2009. This tournament is for netball and futsal. As the sports director is in Brunei at the moment all emails about the event have been forwarded to me. FutsalThose who are interested in joining please contact Din as he will be in charge in the absence of our Sports Director before the deadline. NetballI have yet to set up a Netball team but i hope everyone is on board in participating in the event as I am. I plan to gather all of those who have given me their names and numbers in the meeting and start some netball practices as soon as possible.

Day trip to Cheshire Oaks retail therapy

Assaalamualaikum,

I wish everyone a good holiday and the very best for the upcoming exams. I have here a trip for the 17th January 2009, Saturday. Everyone should be finished with their exams and assessments for semester one right. Due to the nature of this trip please reply to Zaki (livingsun@hotmail.com) to book for this trip and it would be on a first come first serve basis.

The cost will be £15 for adults, children half-price, under-5's ride free.

The coach will leave 8.45am to Cheshire Oaks and leave for Bradford 5pm. It would take us about 1hr 30mins to get there depending on weather and traffic. The coach will be fully insured including a driver.
